Festivals

Oregon and Southwest Washington rock, ride, and parade in the warm summer months.  We’ve gathered up a list of some of our favorite fairs, festivals, and rodeos in the area for the whole family to enjoy.  There’s everything from couch races, to blues, baton twirling, and even crawfish.  Check out their websites for more information and don’t forget to wear sunscreen, hydrate, and have fun!

JUNE

Festival of Balloons in Tigard
Weekend events will include a carnival, Twilight Run, Festival of Cars, premiere youth soccer tournament, Rouge Beer, and of course, hot air balloons!

East Portland CC is hosting their 16th annual parade with pre-parade activities like face painting, hot dogs, a climbing wall, and crafts.

Mollala Buckeroo

Get out your dolled up bikes, wagons, strollers, scooters, and outfits to join in the red, white and blue parade down Elliot Avenue, around Ladds Circle, and ending at Abernathy Elementary School for a treat.

Eastmoreland Annual 4th of July Parade

Estacada: The Big Bang
Celebrate the 4th of July with a bang!  This event has a weekend jam packed with fun activities for everyone.  Activities including Outlaw Karts, live music, fireworks, the Timbers Festival, and even lawn mower racing.  Parade is at 12pm on July 4.

Discover Montavilla Street Fair

Leach Garden Honeybee Hikes
As part of the walk, you have a chance to walk the garden, looking for wildlife, visiting the bees, listening to a story, or making a craft item.  This is a year round weekly event on Wednesdays.  Check main website for possible cancellations.

$2.00/child.  Non-walkers fee. No registration required except for parties of 10 or more.

Leach Garden Weekend Guided Tours
Join Gardener/Curator Courtney Vengarick on the 1st Saturday of each month for her seasonal exploration of the garden.  All other Saturdays join one of their volunteer guides for an informative guided tour of the garden.

Ladybug Nature Walks

Dinosaurs: Land of Fire and Ice
Travel back in time to explore the Age of the Dinosaur with this interactive exhibit that allows your child to encounter unfamiliar landscape, touch dinosaurs of different sizes, and investigate clues about what the dinosaurs left behind.

Mummies of the World, The Exhibition
The largest exhibition of mummies, this cannot be missed.  Not only does it include ancient mummies, but important artifacts from Asia, Oceania, South America, Europe , as well as ancient Egypt dating as far back as 6,500 years.

Wild Life Live!
Throughout each day, zoo staff present wildlife shows on the main stage and this year it’s Birds of the World.  Watch as they take flight across the audience and learn of bird species around the globe.
