Margery Williams’ classic story, The Velveteen Rabbit, is brought to stunning life in a remarkable new partnership between Hillsboro’s Bag & Baggage Productions and Tears of Joy Theatre. Combining B&B’s professional actors with the magical puppetry of Tears of Joy, this world premiere adaptation will be a theatrical event for the whole family. Adapted by David Jenkins, The Velveteen Rabbit tells a timeless tale of the power of acceptance and how love can make all things possible.
“Working with Tears of Joy is a dream come true for us, and to work on a major new adaptation of a classic story like The Velveteen Rabbit is a perfect partnership for our two companies. It is also a wonderful opportunity to introduce Bag&Baggage to a Portland audience, and to give our Hillsboro supporters a chance to see TOJT in our own back yard. The Velveteen Rabbit is the perfect show for the holidays, reminding us all of the power of love and the power of the imagination. I can’t think of a better partner for us and for this show than Tears of Joy Theatre.” – Scott Palmer, B&B Artistic Director
