There are no limits to the ideas and innovations that can be sparked when artists, scientists, and students collide! Students will be introduced to new art forms, using arts and sciences integrations. Whether it’s by using science to explore music or using math to make art, students will create individual and collaborative projects that will be showcased at the end of the week. Students will be exposed to professional artists’ work and be able to practice hands-on skills with our Art(s)cool PDX teachers.
Art(s)cool Camps and Workshops consist of “stations” where kids can create, create, create! Rad, Rad Spring Break will have an Animation Station working with Stop Motion, Flip Books and Thaumatropes, Paper Town where kids can do Kirigami and create giant modular Origami, and for Mad Science, they will have materials supplied from Evergreen Air and Space. In fact, a scientist from Evergreen will be one of the guest presenters during the Lunchtime Performance series! Performances will include rocketry displays, metal pours, and dance – all provided by professionals. Parents are welcome to pop in and join the fun!
Spring Break Camp will held March 25-29 (PDX Metro) at SpaceCraft: Mission to the Arts. 511 N Tillamook Street, Portland OR 97227.
